***Bringing you the very finest minerals ebay has to offer!!***

Mellite

Artern, Unstrut Valley, Thuringia, Germany

from .9cm x to 1.6cm

6 specimens!

Description/Interesting Notes:

An old group of mellite crystals from the type locality in Germany!!! Mellite is a rare mineral that is one of a very small number of organic mineral species!!! This is a group of six individual specimens that were found in an old glass vial!!! The crystals were contained in the vial with a small amount of cotton (which has all but decomposed)!!! The crystals exhibit a variety of complex modifications and some have a small amount of matrix in association!!! The crystals are much better than they appear in the pics!!! The specimens retain their original corked vial as well as their original old label!!! These specimens date back well over a century!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 4th!!!
