Margarosanite

Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey

3cm x 2.3cm x 1cm

Ex. Gar VanTassel Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of this highly sought after rare species from Franklin!!! This majority of this specimen is comprised of intergrown, platy crystals of margarosanite!!! Although it is difficult to appreciate from the pics, in person this specimen is just loaded with sparkly plates and is quite sparkly as a result!!! Under SW UV the margarosanite shows the characteristic intense white-blue fluorescence that the species is so famous for!!! In person, one can see some areas of light orange fluorescence as well!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare and intensely fluorescent Franklin species!!! This specimen was in the private, personal collection of Franklin collector Gar VanTassel!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 9th!!!
