Malachite pseudomorph after Wood Second Mesa, Navajo Co., Arizona 4.7cm x 3.44cm x 3.2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of petrified wood that has been replaced by malachite from Arizona!!! This rare and unique specimen consists of a well-preserved and defined section of petrified wood that has been completely replaced by rich, green malachite!!! The texture and form of the wood is very well defined with prominent features all around!!! The green color is much more saturated and intense than the pictures show!!! The specimen is solid green malachite, or silicified malachite, throughout (the whitish areas on the ends are superficial crusts)!!! This specimen is quite striking in person!!!
