Malachite after Cuprite Ogonja Mine, Ogonja (Onganja), Seeis, Windhoek District, Khomas Region, Namibia 5cm x 3.2cm x 2.8cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A large and impressive example of malachite after cuprite from Ogonja!!! This specimen consists of a large, highly complex crystal of cuprite that has been partially altered to malachite!!! The outer layer of this specimen consists of lively green malachite that ranges from microcrystals to significantly sized groups of intergrown crystals!!! The crystal is much more sharply defined than the pics show!!! On the underside of this specimen one can see that there is some of the underlying cuprite exposed - allowing one to see that the underlying cuprite is of fine, gem quality (quite frequently, these "pseudomorphs" actually contain large cores of particularly fine, facet-grade gem cuprite)!!! This large and impressive specimen is in fantastic condition and displays gorgeously in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
