Native Copper & Malachite pseudomorph after Azurite Georgetown, Georgetown District, Grant Co., New Mexico 2.16cm x 2.04cm x 1.38cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A unique, old time example of native copper and malachite after azurite from New Mexico!!! This specimen consists of a group of complex, intergrown azurite crystals that have been completely replaced by native copper and a subsequent coating of malachite!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see networks of minute crystals of malachite altered native copper in areas around the specimen!!! The specimen is quite heavy for its size, as one would expect for a specimen that is mostly comprised of native copper!!! There are also brownish masses of exposed native copper present as well!!! A unique example of this classic old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
