Liroconite

Wheal Gorland, St Day, Gwennap - St Day Area, Camborne - Redruth - St Day District, Cornwall, England

2.26" x 1.54" x .87"

5.74cm x 3.91cm x 2.21cm

Ex. John Ydren Collection No. 211

Description/Interesting Notes:

An intensely colored example of this rare "Holy Grail" species from Cornwall!!! This specimen hosts a group of sharp, glassy, gemmy crystals of liroconite on matrix!!! The crystals measure up to 6mm and possess the absolute pinnacle of color for the species!!! The pics don't even come close!!! There are numerous smaller crystals and seems of brightly colored liroconite throughout the remainder of the specimen as well!!! These specimens date back to the 1850's and earlier and are nearly impossible to obtain today!!! This rare beauty could easily be priced into the four figures!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
