Wessels Mine, Hotazel, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa

3.48cm x 2.58cm x 1.75cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of rhodochrosite after kutnohorite from Wessels!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of kutnohorite sprays that have been replaced by bubble-gum pink rhodochrosite!!! The rhodochrosite crystals are quite lustrous in person and the specimen is quite lively indeed!!! The pictures simply do not capture what a unique and aesthetic beauty this is!!! A rare pseuodmorph indeed!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
