Kinoite with Calcite and Epidote La Salle Mine, Osceola, Houghton Co., Michigan 6.32cm x 3.75cm x 3.29cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of kinoite from Michigan!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of kinoite for a Michigan kinoite!!! This specimen hosts numerous royal blue prismatic crystals of kinoite included in calcite - as well as a few exposed crystals as well!!! Throughout this specimen there are several dense patches of kinoite!!! With close examination in person, there is much more kinoite present than what the pictures indicate as well!!! This is simply a killer Michigan kinoite!!! The pics hardly do it justice - must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! As I understand it, Michigan was almost the type locality for this species!!! Apparently there were two seperate groups working on the species at the same time, unaware of each other until the Arizona group published their findings!!!
