Stibnite

Iron Co., Utah

9.4cm x 7.5cm 2.15cm

Ex. Ward & Howell (1875-1891)

Ex. Michigan College of Mines No. 447,
A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum #DM-20281K

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, old time stibnite specimen from Utah!!! This unique and rare old stibnite specimen is comprised almost entirely of juxtaposed groups of metallic stibnite crystals!!! The stibnite crystals consist of parallel groups of long, slender crystals!!! While there are a number of different juxtaposed groups of crystals, there are several areas where entire groups of crystals show characteristic bending in a rather dramatic fashion!!! The specimen is more lustrous and sharper defined than the pics show!!! This specimen retains an OLD Ward & Howell label (circa 1880's) as well as old Michigan College of Mines labels as well!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this fascinating old timer justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 13th!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
