Inesite with Quartz

Kawazu mine, Shizuoka Prefecture, Chubu Region, Honshu Island, Japan

9.55cm x 7.35cm x 5.8cm

Ex. Dr. F. P. D'Esopo Collection No. 962

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare example of inesite from Japan!!! This specien is from the Kawazu Mine which happens to be one of the most mineralogically diverse localities in Japan - however it was only open for a short period of time 1915-1959 and collecting is no longer possible!!! This specien consists of a rich showing of pink inesite crystals in association with a long vug of quartz crystals!!! The inesite has rich pink color and is much more crystalline than the pics show - consisting of juxtaposed, intergrown prismatic crystals!!! The pics hardly do it justice - must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen retains an old label from the D'Esopo collection as well!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 1st!!!
