Homilite with Meliphanite

Stokkoya, Langesundsfjorden, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway

6.27cm x 4.7cm x 2.56cm

Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific example of this very rare species from Norway!!! This specimen hosts two partial crystals of dark greenish homilite as well as a large mass of lighter green translucent homilite in association with bright yellow meliphanite, and other unidentified species!!! There are two small partial homilite crystals present!!! The large area of homilite appears to be altering to an unidentified pink colored species as well!!! Rare, old material from the type locale!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
