Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare and scientifically fascinating species from Chile!!! Herbertsmithite gained
notoriety in 2007 when it was reported that it posessed specific and unusual physical properties that make it
behave as a new state of matter (specifically related to String-Net Liquids)!!! Herbertsmithite is believed to
be a two-dimensional quantum spin liquid: a solid material whose atomic spins continue to have motion, even at
absolute zero temperature (according to recent research at MIT, there is compelling evidence that this is indeed
the case)!!! This rare material holds particular value to researchers and could very likely provide new insights
into a wide ranging variety of phenomena - with the most exciting being high-temperature superconductors and
quantum-computing!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of rich green herbertsmithite crystals on matrix!!!
The crystals are sharp, lustrous, and have characteristic deep green color!!! The crystals are very well formed and
range in size to over 1mm!!! These specimens are quite difficult to come by so don't miss out!!!
