A classic, old time example of blue hemimorphite from Sardinia!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of intensely
colored hemimorphite including a
prominent pseudomorph of hemimorphite after calcite!!! Upon close inspection, one can discern at least two other smaller pseudomorphs as
well!!! The calcite has been completely replaced and the specimen consists entirely of rich blue hemimorphite in association
with a small amount of brownish matrix!!! The characteristic rhombohedral habit of the calcite crystal is well preserved and prominent!!! The
hemimorphite has a characteristic botryoidal habit with intense blue color!!! The hemimorphite has marked luster and translucence as well!!!
These striking old time blue hemimorphites from Sardinia are quite scarce on today's market!!! Pseudomorphs such as this are
even more so!!!
