Description/Interesting Notes: An extraordinary, old time example of "Calamine" hemimorphite from Sterling Hill!!! This museum-quality beauty consists of a matrix that is completely covered with superb crystals of hemimorphite!!! The hemimorphite is present as two layers - a whitish, almost acicular bottom layer and a thick second layer of GEM clear, pristine, interlocking crystals!!! The visual effect is absolutely stunning in person!!! The hemimorphite crystals are sharply terminated and have brilliantly glassy luster!!! This world-class beauty dates to the 19th century and retains its original handwritten label!!! The label describes it as "Calamine" which is an antiquated term for hemimorphite dating to prior to the 1900's!!!
