Hematite

Brezouard Massif, Ste Marie-aux-Mines (Markirch), Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France

9.88cm x 5.05cm x 2cm

Ex. Howard Belsky

Description/Interesting Notes:

An absolutely amazing example of hematite from France!!! These unique specimens from this seldom referenced French locality are literally such extraordinary examples of hematite that they almost look like an altogether different species!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of intergrown crystals of hematite in association with a small amount of matrix!!! The hematite crystals are present as thick - almost blocky, hexagonal crystals!!! The crystals have razor-sharp form and handsome gray-metallic luster!!! This specimen is complete and undamaged!!! An absolutely KILLER hematite from France!!! Old material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 26th!!!
