Hauyne

Taiarapu beach, Teahupoo, Tahiti Iti, Tahiti, Windward Islands, French Polynesia

6.2cm x 5.3cm x 4.35cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An absolutely magnificent example of this rare gem species from a very rare locality - TAHITI!!! This specimen hosts several incredible, intense royal blue crystal of hauyne embedded in darkly colored matrix!!! The hauyne crystals show an unusual, pronounced prismatic habit and range in size up to 1cm!!! The crystals have glassy luster, gemmy clarity, and absolutely CHOICE intense royal blue color!!! This specimen is from an exotic locality (apparently the exact beach is a "nude" beach as well) and specimens from this locality are extremely scarce indeed!!! Simply an incredible example of this rare gem species!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 9th!!!
