Hardystonite & Clinohedrite with Willemite and Andradite

Buckwheat Pit, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey

8.7cm x 7.73cm x 4.15cm

Ex. Albert Peppis

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of rare hardystonite and clinohedrite from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a rich showing of hardystonite (fluorescent blue-purple) and clinohedrite (fluorescent peach to orange) with willemite (fluoreescent green) and dark brown andradite!!! There may be other species in association as well!!! This specimen is way better than the pics show - UV photography is not my specialty!!! Upon examination with the scope I can see tiny, colorless sheets of submillimeter crystals in some small patches (clinohedrite?)!!! This specimen came from the Albert Peppis collection who collected extensively throughout the Northeast from the early 1940's through the 1970's!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this specimen justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 8th!!!
