Chromian Grossular Garnet

Thetford Mines, Les Appalaches RCM, Chaudiere-Appalaches, Quebec, Canada

2.5cm x 2cm x 1.85cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of chromian grossular from this unique Canadian locale!!! Let me start off by saying that these crystals are WAY more intensely colored in person!!! In person, the crystals have deep, intense, CHOICE chrome emerald green color!!! This specimen consists of a striking group of sharp, lustrous, undamaged crystals prominently perched atop a matrix of pale green diopside (upon close inspection one can see tiny, intergrown jackstraw crystals)!!! These incredible chromian grossular crystals are actually quite large for the locality, with crystals ranging in size to just over 5mm!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 16th!!!
