Description/Interesting Notes: A incredible example of native gold from Venezuala!!! This specimen consists of an amazing, textbook-perfect single crystal of native gold!!! This specimen is a dense, solid floater with no point of attachment!!! The specimen is complete and undamaged!!! The crystal exhibits a complex, tetrahexahedral habit (think of a cube but with shallow, four-sided pyramids on each cube face!)!!! One side of the crystal exibits some highly complex features that are comprised of minute features with numerous tiny parallel oriented faces!!! This specimen has brilliant luster and a bright golden hue!!! This is an extraordinary example of this famed species - it literally looks like a crystal model!!! The gold from this find is remarkably pure as well, with some crystals assaying at 99.6% pure!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
