Native Gold

D. M. H. Mine, Piute Mountain District, Kern Co., California

4.05cm x 3.37cm x 2.7cm

Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 6594

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare locality example of native gold from California!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts several areas of crystalline native gold!!! The native gold has a rich yellow hue and brilliant metallic luster!!! Upon close inspection one can see crystalline features on the native gold!!! This specimen has fantastic provenance, including a copy of the old, original assay reports from the locality owner, R. W. Havey, as well as a note and addressed packaging sent by him to a Dr. J. Kaufman in Connecticut (dated 1968)!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains his original personal collection label as well!!! The pics hardly to it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 2nd!!!
