Native Gold with Quartz & Pyrite

Baguio, Mountain Province, Cordillera Administrative Region, Luzon, Philippines

2.75cm x 1.95cm x 1.35cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An old, rare locality example of native gold from the Philippines!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a very rich showing of native gold!!! The native gold is richly integrated throughout the quartz matrix as dense networks of ribbon-like crystals!!! The quartz matrix has marked translucence in areas, allowing one to see the dense inclusions of native gold within!!! The broad face of the specimen hosts some darkly colored material but there are numerous areas of native gold that poke through its surface!!! In person the brilliance of the exposed native gold crystals is much more apparent and dynamic!!! This is a most unusual and interesting old time native gold specimen!!! This is a magnificent example from this locality indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
