Native Gold

Ruby City Mining Company, Silver City District (Carson District), Owyhee Co., Idaho

6.15cm x 5.28cm x 2.86cm

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum No. DM-13314

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of native gold from this historic Idaho locality!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a significant showing of bright native gold across its broad face!!! The native gold is present in a thin, exposed vein and consists of highly compressed crystals!!! Upon close inspection, one can see complex crystalline features on the sheet-like native gold crystals!!! One can find the edges of other similar veins of native gold on the reverse of the specimen as well!!! This specimen retains an old label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum as well as its affixed catalogue number!!! The pics hardly do this historic rarity justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 28th!!!
