Native Gold with Quartz

Bend deposit, Gilman, Taylor Co., Wisconsin

5.55cm x 4.8cm x 4.67cm

Ex. A. J. Beres Collection No. A-910

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, rare locality example of native gold from Wisconsin!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of brilliant native gold on a quartz matrix!!! The gold has a rich yellow hue and, upon close inspection, one can see numerous small crystalline features!!! This specimen is OLD material and retains an old affixed label that gives the locality as "Ford, Wi"!!! The Bend Deposit is located right between Gilman and Ford and was the likely source of this specimen!!! In addition to the dense network of native gold crystals situated near the label, there are several other significant areas of native gold scattered about the specimen as well!!! This specimen is from the A.J. Beres collection, although the affixed label is even older!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Rare old material!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY September 16th!!!
