Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of native gold from the Camp Bird Mine in Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts several areas of included native gold in addition to some minor sphalerite!!! The native gold is present in several areas, mainly as small dense groups of included masses!!! Examples of native gold from Camp Bird are quite scarce indeed!!! We acquired this specimen from the collection of Bob Jenkins (who had amassed an impressive collection of native gold locality specimens) and this specimen retains one of his handwritten labels as well!!!
