Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of native gold from this famed locality!!! This specimen consists of a quartz and schist matrix that hosts several areas of pyrrhotite in addition to a single, prominent crystal of brilliant, buttery yellow native gold!!! Classic Homestake Mine material!!! Upon close examination one can see that the largest are of pyrrhotite is actually crystalline, with some tiny submillimeter bits of gold in association and there is another unidentified species in association as well!!!
