Description/Interesting Notes: An old, rare locality example of native gold from California!!! This specimen hosts a group of complex native gold crystals prominently protruding from the matrix!!! Upon close examination the gold can be seen to be quite well crystallized in areas and also has a curious, some what varied hue that ranges from a slightly silvery-golden to a deep buttery yellow gold!!! The matrix is comprised of quartz and albite (?) and there is a minor amount of slightly altered chalcopyrite in association as well!!! This specimen retains an old handwritten label from Bob Jenkins as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Rare old time material!!!
