Franckeite Poopo town, Poopo Province, Oruro Department, Bolivia 9.2cm x 7.75cm x 5.3cm Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: A huge, old time example of this rare species from Bolivia!!! This specimen consists of an impressively sized cluster of silvery franckeite crystals!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of crystalline franckeite!!! The franckeite crystals are present as intergrown balls of radiating crystals!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the individual crystals exhibit characteristic bladed form with silvery gray metallic luster!!! It is difficult to appreciate from the pics - however this specimen hosts a rich showing of well crystallized franckeite on both sides!!! In person it is easy to see that there is a lot of crystallization going on here - with numerous areas hosting swaths of terminated crystals!!! This is a killer, old time example of this rare species!!! Way, WAY better than the pics show!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
