Fluorite with Chalcopyrite Sub-Rosiclare level, Denton Mine, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois 7.2cm x 6.1cm x 6cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic example of fluorite from this famed locale!!! This specimen consists of a large, complex fluorite crystal with numerous golden crystals of chalcopyrite in association!!! The fluorite crystal exhibits a core of golden yellow followed by an outer zone of purple and light blue!!! The crystal exhibits complexly stepped features on its faces, with the raised features being localized to the outer edges of the faces!!! The recessed areas host a rich showing of sharp, brilliantly metallic chalcopyrite crystals as well!!! Upon close examination, one can see that there are significant inclusions of chalcopyrite crystals within the crystal as well!!! Despite some minor damage, the specimen is in great condition pverall and displays quite handsomely in person!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
