Fluorite with Sphalerite

Elmwood mine, Carthage, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Smith Co., Tennessee

8cm x 6cm x 5.4cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic example of fluorite and sphalerite from the Elmwood Mine!!! This specimen hosts a cluster of rich, bluish purple flourite crystals in association with a single, large sphalerite crystal on matrix!!! The fluorite crystals exhibit characteristic coloration with rich bluish purple color that increases in intensity toward the edges of the cubic crystals!!! The crystals have marked clarity and luster with the faces being comprised of numerous smaller faces!!! The sphalerite crystal is actually one large, single compound crystal with bright glassy luster and lively reddish highlights within!!! Aside from some minor cleaves, this specimen is in great condition and displays quite handsomely in person!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
