Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey

6.24cm x 3.8cm x 3.72cm

Ex. Letts Collection

Ex. Lee Tori Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of this rare and intensely fluorescent species from Franklin!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of solid esperite!!! This specimen consists of a large nodule of solid esperite in association with a small amount of black franklinite and a tiny bit of calcite!!! This specimen weighs 155 grams and is loaded with intense, bright yellow fluorescence under SW UV!!! Simply an outstanding example of this rare Franklin species!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Lee Tori who acquired it decades ago from Franklin collector Ralph Letts!!! This specimen retains Tori's label and has an old enamel catalogue number affixed as well!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 9th!!!
