Epidote & Diopside with Calcite and Actinolite var. Byssolite

Alchuri, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

5.74cm x 3.04cm x 2.23cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of epidote from Pakistan!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of gemmy, undamaged crystals of olive-brown epidote in association with light green diopside crystals and hair-like crystals of byssolite that hold a complexly etched single crystal of calcite!!! The calcite crystal has a highly complex habit with a velvety outer luster that is natually etched - there are actually several areas that are not etched however, where one can see that the inside of the crystal is actually quite gemmy!!! In person one can see more glassy areas on the calcite than it appears in the pics!!! The epidote crystals are complete and undamaged all around, as is the calcite!!! The diopside crystals have a light green color and glassy luster!!! This specimen is in pristine condition and displays magnificently all around!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
