Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of this famed gem species in kimberlite matrix!!! This specimen consists of a portion of darkly colored kimberlite matrix that hosts a single pristine crystal of diamond!!! The diamond crystal is gem-clear and brilliantly lustrous!!! somewhat curvaceous faces!!! The crystal measures approximately 1.5mm and is a sharp, highly lustrous crystal with gemmy clarity that allows you to see right through to the matrix underneath!!! Upon close examination, one can see that this specimen has a highly complex, remarkably symmetric habit that is comprised of sharply defined, curvaceous faces!!! The crystal is complete and undamaged!!! This specimen has not been repaired in anyway - as is so often the case with matrix diamond specimens!!! True matrix examples of diamond are quite scarce indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
