Descloizite pseudomorph after Vanadinite

Abenab Mine, Grootfontein, Grootfontein District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia

5.42cm x 4.78cm x 3.02cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of descloizite after vanadinite from Namibia!!! This specimen consists of a complex grouping of large, chunky vanadinite crystals that has been largely replaced by descloizite!!! The vanadinite that remains actually appears to be badly damaged, however much of it is actually complexly etched!!! The vanadinite also has marked clarity in areas!!! The descloizite crystals are quite impressive in areas as well, consisting of large, sharp, euhedral crystals in addition to the microcrystalline material replacing the vanadinite!!! This is a killer old time pseudomorph indeed!!! Rare, old material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 19th!!!
