Datolite Delaware Mine, Delaware, Keweenaw Co., Michigan 3.8cm x 3.3cm x 1.44cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic example of datolite from Michigan!!! This specimen consists of a solid nodule of datolite that has been cut and finely polished to reveal its handsome interior!!! The datolite has a unique, multi-hued coloration that is reminiscent of a carefully roasted marshmallow!!! The coloration ranges from a light caramel to golden-tan to white!!! Upon close examination, one can see a bit of a sparkle in the very slightly translucent datolite!!! The outer surface actually shows a fine, microcrystalline surface with eye-visible crystals!!!
