Description/Interesting Notes: An incredible, old time example of native copper after cuprite from this historic French locality!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, single crystal of cuprite that has been completely pseudomorphed to native copper!!! There is also a thin layer of colorful secondary copper species in association as well!!! Upon close examination, one can see the native copper peeking through the surface!! The crystal exhibits classic form for the locality and is complete all around!!! An unsusual, and rare, native copper pseudomorph from a locality much better known for its classic malachite pseudomorphs after cuprite!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
