Cuprite Tsumeb, Namibia 3.94cm x 2.92cm x 2.5cm Ex. Dr. Klose Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of cuprite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of deep red cuprite!!! The cuprite is present as finely intergrown crystals that have sparkly luster and particularly lively red color!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope there are areas of tiny smithsonite crystals to be seen as well as an unidentified light green mineral!!! This specimen is way better than the pics show!!! This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material had not been catalogued but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! This specimen also retains an old label from Dr. Klose as well!!! Old material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
