Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of covellite crystals from this classic Italian locale!!! This specimen consists of a
showy cluster of complex, bladed crystals in association with some scattered pyrite crystals and micro crystals of
an unidentified green mineral as well!!! It was tough to capture just how fine this specimen is in the pics - The main
crystals of covellite are thick and have sharp faces on their edges!!! The crystals show a striking combination of
intense yellow golden, purple, and magenta colors with brilliant metallic luster!!! The pyrite crystals
are present as characteristic, compressed modified octahedrons and there are some curious unidentified green microcrystals
present among them as well!!! This specimen is in
magnificent condition and displays stunningly in person!!! Old material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
