Description/Interesting Notes: A classic example of covellite from Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a dense cluster of large, thick blades of brilliantly metallic, golden iridescent crystals of covellite!!! This specimen is much more crystalline than it appears from the pics - this is a magnificent covellite indeed!!! The golden metallic color with bright purple and blue iridescent highlights is quite striking in person!!! Upon close inspection there are small hexagonal plates scattered about in the recesses of the larger platy crystals and there is significant crystalline detail on the faces of the large blades as well!!! This specimen retains several previous labels as well!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
