Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of corundum from Alabama!!! This specimen consists of a complex single crystal of corundum!!! The crystal has highly complex features and a deep reddish orange color!!! The crystal has exhibits concentric, stepped layers and has marked luster!!! In person its crystallization is much more apparent and pronounced!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Michigan College of Mines (A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum) and also retains an even older, handwritten label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
