Coquimbite with Romerite

Dexter No. 7 Mine, Calf Mesa, San Rafael District, Emery Co., Utah

13.3cm x 12.5cm x 6.3cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent exmaple of this rare species from Utah!!! This specimen cocnsists of a very large plate covered with light purple crystals of coquimbite in association with brown romerite!!! The coquimbite crystals are very well formed with marked luster and clarity!!! The crystals have light purple color and exhibit significant color change under different lighting conditions!!! Under fluorescent lighting the color is a much lighter lavender color, and under incandescent lighting the purple color is more pronounced!!! There are significant showings of brown romerite crystals as well, in addition to som whitish halotrichite as well!!! This is a large and impressive specimen!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen came out of an old collection and was collected decades ago!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 15th!!!
