Native Copper in Calcite

Ogonja, Seeis, Windhoek District, Khomas Region, Namibia

2.3cm x 1.55cm x 1.45cm

Ex. Frank & Wendy Melanson Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of copper included calcite from Namibia!!! This specimen consists of a group of complex, ribbon-like crystals of native copper that are intergrown with a showy grouping of complex calcite crystals!!! The calcite crystals show highly complex, doubly terminated forms with glassy luster and gemmy clarity!!! The crystals are complet and undamaged!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that the native copper crystals are actually compressed, ribbon-like spinel twins!!! This specimen is quite lively and very showy in person!!! Displays gorgeously all around!!! This specimen is from the lifelong personal collection of Frank & Wendy Melanson!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 16th!!!
