Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual example of native copper that has formed after a railroad spike!!! This specimen is consists of a native copper cast/replacement after an iron ore-cart railroad spike!!! These rare oddities occur when copper-rich solutions meet up with and replace mining artifacts!!! This is a particularly fine example indeed!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! This specimen has a gorgeous multi-hued patina with reds, greens, and bright copper tones!!! This specimen retains its orginal Wintringham collection label!!!
