Cobaltite

Brazil Lake Occurrence, Foster Township, Sudbury District, Ontario, Canada

4cm x 3.8cm x 2.47cm

Ex. Thomas J. Campbell Collection No. S-13

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of cobaltite from Canada!!! This specimen hosts an impressive 1.4cm crystal of cobaltite on matrix in association with smaller cobaltite crystals and some light green crystals of actinolite-tremolite!!! The cobaltite crystals exhibit complex, squared-off habits characteristic of the locality!!! The main crystal juts out prominently from the matrix just above a criss-cross of light green actinolite-tremolite crystals!!! This specimen is from the collection of Thomas J. Campbell, Co-author of "The Encyclopedia of Minerals"!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 24th!!!
