Cobaltite

Hakansboda, Lindesberg, Vastmanland, Sweden

6.5cm x 5.6cm x 4.64cm

Ex. Finnish Museum of Natural History
at the University of Helsinki

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic, old time example of cobaltite from Sweden!!! This specimen hosts a sharp single crystal of cobaltite proudly perched on matrix!!! The cobaltite crystal is complete and exhibits characteristic complex form!!! The crystal has sharp faces with brilliant metallic silver luster that stands out in contrast from the matrix!!! The cobaltite crystal measures nearly 1cm!!! This is classic, old time material that likely dates to the 19th century!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Finnish Museum of Natural History at the University of Helsinki as well!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 19th!!!
