Quartz var. Citrine

Mansa District, Luapula Province, Zambia

4.67cm x .69cm x .65cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of quartz var. citrine from the new find in Zambia!!! This specimen consists of a doubly terminated, gem crystal of NATURAL citrine!!! While examples of "citrine" from Brazil are commonly seen on the market they are almost always irradiated or otherwise treated in order to create the characteristic "citrine" color!!! True, naturally occuring examples of citrine are actually quite rare indeed!!! This new find produced a small number of particularly fine examples of true, natural citrine!!! This specimen consists of a long, slender, doubly terminated crystal of gem citrine!!! The crystal has gem clarity throughout and pronounced citrine color - with one end hosting an area of almost smoky color!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
