Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of chrysoberyl from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a classic, cyclic chrysoberyl crystal "sixling" twin!!! The crystal exhibits a dramatically elongated, barrel-like form that shows classic "sixling" twinning along the c-axis!!! The crystal has characteristic golden color with an inner phantom of dark amber-brown!!! When viewed on edge, one can see that these phantoms are also sharply stratified, giving the specimen a curious "striped" appearance!!! The crystal is not entirely complete, however there is much more crystallization than the pictures show - in person there is much more detail and complexly crystalline features!!! This specimen displays gorgeously in person!!! Simply a magnificent example of this unique gem species - way better than the pics show!!!
