Magnetite and Chondrodite

Tilly Foster Iron Mine, Tilly Foster, Southeast Township, Putnam Co., New York

6.4cm x 5.33cm x 4.65cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic, old time example of chondrodite and magnetite from Tilly Foster!!! This specimen hosts a face covered with lustrous, gemmy crystals of chondrodite paired with sharp, complex crystals of magnetite!!! The chondrodite crystals have deep orange-red color and gemmy clarity - which, combined with their bright luster makes them almost look electrified in person!!! These brilliant gems stand out in sharp contrast next to the jet-black magnetite crystals as well!!! This specimen is WAY better than the pics show!!! Simply a fantastic combo from this historic and highly sought after locality!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 20th!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
