Chlorargyrite with Acanthite

Kelly Mine, Randsburg, Rand District, Kern Co., California

4.65cm x 4.3cm x 1.75cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of chlorargyrite and acanthite from California!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of chlorargyrite in association with massive acanthite!!! The chlorargyrite is present as multiple, concentric sheet-like veins that sandwich thin sheets of matrix between them!!! In addition to the dense network of "sheets" of chlorargyrite, there are also several significant masses paired with the masses of darkly colored acanthite!!! The chlorargyrite has a grayish color with a slight translucence on edge and a waxy-like appearance!!! This specimen retains an old label from Forrest Cureton as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 14th!!!
