Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of nickelskutterudite from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a showy cluster of large, well formed crystals of nickelskutterudite var. chloanthite in association with reddish siderite!!! The crystals exhibit somewhat complex habits with sharp faces and brilliantly metallic silver luster!!! The crystals are in fantastic condition and the specimen displays magnificently!!! The complexity of the crystals and their intense metallic brilliance made them difficult to capture in the pics - the specimen is quite striking in person!!! This material likely dates back well over a century!!! This specimen also retains an old, unattributed label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
