Description/Interesting Notes:
Although this specimen is technically synthetic, Chatham emeralds are considered by many
to be indistinguishable from naturally occurring emerald!!!. This cluster consists of many
well-formed emeralds that are simply incredible!!! The color is an absolutely perfect emerald
green and it is much better than the photographs show!!! If one so desired, I would imagine
that this specimen could be faceted into many valuable faceted gemstones but I think it is
simply spectacular as is!!! This specimen is DRAMATICALLY more gemmy than most of the clusters
I have seen from Chatham!!! This specimen is a lot more impressive in person and was very
difficult to photograph because it had such rich color and glassy luster!!! I have found that
the only other way one can obtain these specimens through Chatham on their website, (go to
the consumer pricelist) It is also quite interesting to learn about the process!!! They are
$21/carat (VERY EXPENSIVE)!!! Using a gram scale (that, unfortunately, does not measure into
fractional grams) this specimen weighs a minimum of 6 grams, or 30 carats!!! Such a weight,
at $21/carat would give this specimen a value of approximately $630 at a minimum!!! And that
is the price directly from the manufacturer!!!
